First sanitation-biogas project in Malawi

All the toilet, water and biogas digester work has been finished at the Kapeni Primary School in Blantyre. The school’s over 8'000 students attend in 2 shifts. This is the first time that this new “circular solution” has been implemented in a public school in Malawi. The project included installation of new toilet blocks, urinals, handwashing stations, solar water pump and a water tank. In addition, the toilets are connected to digesters, producing biogas for the school kitchen.

We are very thankful to our entrepreneurs on the ground:

Our gratitude also goes out to our funders for this ambitious project:
Isaac Dreyfus-Bernheim Foundation, the Leopold Bachman Foundation as well as to other sponsors who wish to remain anonymous.
